This surgeon was recommended to me by ii other doctors. jibe to Dr.Wai ( cardinal of my regular gynecologist) during my exam (before waiver to see Dr. Denhey) Dr. Denhey was the stovepipe surgeon in her survey to adjourn my tumor. I was very freigtened that the best do doctor for the line of business only did this procedure 32 quantify with the robot that called so many promises. In my research I wise(p) that since robotic surgical procedure is a innovative technology its mappings and readiness re trip not to that extent been well found (Anthony R. Lanfranco, BAS, Andres E. Castellanos, MD, Jaydev P. Desai, PhD,* William C. M shopping mallrs, MD (2011). I wheel spoke with twain surgions peeled in the field (Dr.Steven Choe, MD and Dr. Poovendran, Saththasivam, MD. to see if mayh ap Dr. Denehy hump level was out-of-pocket to him cosmos an older surgeon. I was very impress to accept that two naked as a jaybird doctors had never utilise this equipment. I was told by two physicians that it wasnt authorisation to record how to use the machine but since the hospital had just purchased the machine they were two issue to get reproduction for development this machine. Surgeons start out their careers without development about the robots initially. It is not accepted for them to delay how to use the machine. This make me think of another disadvantage. What would happen if the surgeon execute the surgery develop ill and aim swear outance. Who would beginning in and swear out him with the procedure ? If all surgions arnt on the same page with cognize how to use the machine Im not sure if this surgery is a emolument at all. As a enduring of I would be most sure-footed knowing that if something should go legal injury during the procedure wit h the health of my doctor another physicial in the neck of the woods of the hospital is ready and capable of saltation in and completing the procedure. According to Dr. many surgions free miss the skills of working with the surgical robot.Another disadvantage was that to date, most of the studies that urinate been through with(p) for the surgical robots has been of practicality of the equipment . The researchers of the technology harbort do any be up studies to date on a long-run period. At leart thatwas what my surgeon informed me during my consutation. I alike well-educated that many procedures performed with the robotic surgical device allow overly soon be redesigned to optimize the use of robotic mail and join on efficiency. This is large(p) for a patient appearing for to hurl a procedure through in the future but not so great for a patient conviction lag to have a procedure do today. umpteen of the disadvantages search to be projects that provoke all go away with time and endure it see very liable(predicate) that many disadvantages be remedied in the future( Anthony R. Lanfranco, BAS, Andres E. Castellanos, MD, Jaydev P. Desai, PhD,* William C. Meyers, MD 2011) It became vindicated to me that though this technology offer many advantages at that place are some disadvantages that actually concerns me. One of them being that because this equipment requires a surgeon to give way the instruments opus watching a goggle box manage potentially a dissever could go wrong.Robot encourage surgeries requires the surgeon to move in the reversal snap from the mark on the monitor. If the surgeon begets hackneyed and forgets that he is to be lamentable in the frigid commissioning he or she digest cause major damages. In tack for this to work right it require a tidy sum of hand eye coordination and great hand and flip dexterity. The composition that this procedure is through with(p) through the look and fingers of a hu man being, lead me to deal that this record of procedure is not guard duty proof.Perhaps even more(prenominal) than grave than the prospect of a respite is the ability to line up that a pick has thusly occurred and hold back hazards resulting from it, that is, allow the robot to become flat safely. This unremarkably involves completion the robot down and removing it from the patient, and having the operation manually accurate by a surgeon. As the task which the robot undertakes becomes more and more complicated, thither is an increase lack for more interwoven hardware and software system components (faster response, crack accuracy, more degrees of freedom). This increases the luck of mistake exponentially. software program is notoriously hard to grounds about, enchantment hardware reliability never ceases to be of strand importance. CONCLUSIONS Robotic surgery is chop-chop making its way into the proficiency of surgical procedures as we know it today. though the technology is reasonably fresh its comme il faut the choice for surgery for both surgeon and patients. Many individuals free looking that they need time to only consecrate theses machines and would likely view it in a hardly a(prenominal) more geezerhood. With the still use of this machine the pros go forth more than likely outgo the cons. Traditionally, individuals depended on fossil enkindles such as coal and oil for electricity production. However, coal and oil being fossil fuels atomic number 18 infinite and cannot be renewed or regenerate themselves. According to research conducted, it is evident that the fossil fuel reserves will become exhausted in few centuries to come. Traditionally, there existed a belief that an alternative fuel to coal and oil would be thermonuclear power. However, its rate of nuisance is characterized by the 1986 Chernobyl catastrophe in Japan. This has made solar energy to be regarded as the best replacement for fossil fuels. This is because of its greatest verity and safety. In addition to that, it is the most reliable and impressive energy opening. For instance, the solar radiation on an average day can be five multiplication higher in summer as compared to winter. Nevertheless, in winter to be precise during the sunny day, it is possible to capture a radiation of 4-5kWh/M2 /day. This is possible in regardless of the temperatures within the surrounding (Brown, 2006). Solar systems and panels are significant in solar power exploitation and have application in various dimensions. These are such as, domestic hot water preparation, heating of pool water, technology process heating and heating of buildings via heat input. In residential dwellings, there is incorporation of solar thermal systems that are modern without any difficulties in the facilities of the building (Hodgson, 2008). Furthermore, the systems have a longer lifespan (more than 20yrs) thus making them to be efficient in complementing the modern technology of heating. Thus, the purpose of this proposal is to analyze solar panel energy as an alternative to traditional electrical energy for residential dwellings. That is why the world needs urgently cleaner energy to satisfy its energy demands and reduce negative environmental impacts as a result of traditional method of electrical production. Justification of the study Many environmentalists and scientists discern that the world needs to reduce on its greenhouse gas emission for purposes of decreasing global warming. Greener energies such as solar power provide a solution to this problem. Even though solar energy is a cleaner alternative source of energy, there exist many contends that need to be addressed. The challenge is such as its ability to be utilized on a wide scale and replace the utilization of fossil fuels as the principal source of energy. In comparison to other methods of electricity production, solar energy is a renewable form of energy that is clean the solar panels can be utilized sufficiently and effectively to heat homes and water.

Additionally, it is also ital to recognize and understand how that in modern age, religion is playing a big role in s ocial and political arena thus we need to be very careful on how we asses and adjudicate other religions and develop a mechanism on how to deal with variety of religions and tolerate divergent practices. It is significant to note that religious diversity and the role of religion should play in peoples lives are not new issues. This is because encouraging religious toleration makes people to shun away from religious rapture and challenges them to pursue life, liberty, and happiness commanded by rational choice and personal judgment. Setting up Connection at Home - Essay ExampleMoreover, a broadband modem is utilized for linking the network to the web/Internet. In this scenario, we can make use of a DSL modem with a ph mavin line or a cable modem with the cable internet link (OpenBookProject). chore Broadband Connectivity In this project we need to link a floor based system that is running a Windows XP operating system, and Internet Explorer sack up browser to access an ISP to an internet broadband connection. In this scenario, we have to offer more economical and more enhanced connectivity to our users. For this purpose, I have searched for a physical body of solutions such as DSL cable, Cable TV, and Wireless connection Proposed Solution With the passage of time, there has emerged a lot of innovative technologies and wireless technology is one of them. At the present, more and more people ar going toward wireless solutions. This overall scenario demands better technology-based solutions for the better com munication and working. The wireless broadband connection is instantly more appropriate solution for establishing an internet connection (OpenBookProject Nash). Overall Design or High-Level Description The vast majority of the world is yet wait for broadband service. However, in the well-populated regions of the developed world, existing wire-line phone and cable TV communications structures are able to offer the broadband connectivity, and accessibility is now super high. All over the place else, the high costs of present alternatives, like that establishment of the new wire-line arrangements or large scale macro-cellular wireless models similar to WiMAX infrastructure, are big obstacles to additional broadband subscriber expansion. I have proposed the wireless broadband internet technology based arrangement that will be fit to offer an excellent support for establishing a connection for working space (Broadband Ruckus Wireless, Inc. TopTenReviews). Given below is the diagram o f proposed network solution Figure 1Network plot for the proposed solution, Source http//0.tqn.com/d/compnetworking/1/0/c/c/two-router-network.png Connectivity Wireless broadband internet connectivity is fundamentally a method of connecting all the systems/computers at home or work jointly and providing them with a means to access the internet and share information without making use of wires. In addition, wireless networks are as well recognized as Wi-Fi networks (Broadband Ruckus Wireless, Inc. TopTenReviews). Linking Systems If the only location in the home that we utilize the net is a desktop PC system and it is succeeding(a) to a phone socket then we almost certainly should not be paying attention in wireless communication networking. In addition, normally a family these days has more than one personal computer, and some of them will be desktops and some would be laptops. However, wireless networking formulates it simple for all these computers to share a commons broadband c onnection. Additionally, there are additional devices that could be utilized in order to establish a wireless link that we might not have recognized like that games consoles and a number of mobile phones (Broadband Ruckus Wireless, Inc. Designing an Observational Situation Research Paper

Designing an Observational Situation - Research Paper ExampleThe teacher should return them the importance of the acquirement, describe it using a T-chart, establish practice circumstances in which students can utilize the skill and make certain that student tick a response on their utilization of skill, and reflect on the way to advance the skill. The teacher should make sure the students keep trying to undertake the skill before it grows to be automatic. Structuring cooperative encyclopedism should follow this, so that the students can utilize the classroom and social skills, and the teacher can monitor their undertaking. The teacher should step in in co-operative instruction groups to make sure students are utilizing the skill correctly and see them doing so. The student should then complete questionnaires or checklists to self-identify their mastering of the set skills. In using everyday class activities to establish that students are demonstrating skills and understanding, teachers should have observation checklists or notes recording things they see as well as the sort of learning demonstrated. The next step should entail assigning students to set improvement targets for enhancing their competency followed by assessment of student knowledge of learnt skill. The final step should entail reportage on the level of students skill to the concerned parties, such as parents and students. B. Issues Anticipated in Conducting the Observation The teacher will generally focus on obscure skills and behaviors without concern for the subsequent and preceding actions, which might offer the meaning and context of the behaviors. Methodological issues can also interfere with the drawing of proper conclusions (Adelman & Walker, 2005). The observation do can occur, as the students are aware that their behaviors are being observed. The presence of the teacher can change the students behavior resulting in reactive effects. The other issue relates to the actual amount of time needed to acquire sound observation duration and the correct number of observations needed to acquire valid and reliable results. There is the issue of the appropriate level of the analysis (student, the class, or students in the class) the teacher should use when analyzing observation data. The student may also exit to demonstrate all the required learning outcomes (Koth et al., 2009). The demonstration of a learning outcome may not be demonstrated because the attention of the teacher may be elsewhere and thus fail to notice it. The student can also derive unintentional signal prompts. Students do not perform similar tasks under similar conditions and thus some of the teachers judgment of student demonstrations of learning outcomes can be undependable. The teachers judgments are also prone and subjective to inconsistencies (Koth et al., 2009). Too much is left to the teachers discretion. Subjective judgment may allow the teacher to stereotype students in terms of other characteristics and performances. It may also allow the possibility of unconscious and conscious bias for or against groups or individuals. C. How to Address the Challenges The teacher can address the learning outcome issue by deliberately prompting learning outcomes. The assessment should be incidental and planned. The teacher should also ensure that the assessment is all-inclusive. Over time, the teacher has numerous opportunities of observing the demonstration o

Carbon sequestraion and climate change lab Assignment

Carbon sequestraion and climate change lab - Assignment ExampleRelease of carbon dioxide into the water lowers water pH. Elodea photosynthesizes only when it is exposed to light but respiration is constant because the plant leave behind always require energy. The effect of respiration, however, does not excessively influence the pH since aquatic plants have a low energy requirement (Lal).3. Amount of light penetrating the water is a control fixings to terrestrial carbon sequestration by aquatic plants. For the aquatic plants to be able to sequester the carbon, light is needed to facilitate the turn of photosynthesis.Another limiting factor is the amount of aquatic plants in the water. Aquatic plants sequester carbon when they are alive and when they die, the organic matter that is rich in carbon be in the dead matter (Lal). As aquatic plant coverage increases, therefore, so does the terrestrial sequestration that accompanies it.The population of aquatic life feeding on the aqu atic plants also determines the amount of carbon that aquatic plants can sequester. In the aquatic ecosystem, the aquatic plants are at the base of the food chain. The size of the succeeding food level will determine the population of the plants that will remain available to sequester carbon.1. Accuracy and precision of measurements in the experiment is influenced by the process of estimation. An estimate is subjective in nature, and is prone to errors because it will depend on the person carrying out the estimate. Individual differences such as height and eyesight will affect the estimates that are made. The same tree will, therefore, have different height estimates for different individuals.Estimating wood volume of branches is also introduces errors to the experiment because branches are not staring(a) cylinders. The diameter of a tree branch reduces as you move from the stem to the branches the calculations do not account for this

Discuss Erikson's theory of development Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Discuss Eriksons theory of fortifyment - Essay ExampleEgo identity is the conscious find of self that we develop through social interaction (Cherry 1). In the point of view of Erikson, the ego identity of an individual is swayled by the experiences he/she goes through in everyday life. As one interacts more with the society, it adds to ones knowledge. Thus, the action and behavior of an individual is governed by his/her ego identity as well as a sense of competence. Eriksons theory is based upon eight stages of psychosocial development (Harder). Each of these deals with a particular area of competence in life. It is up to the individual how he/she copes with the challenges encountered in each of the eight stages. If an individual performs well in a certain stage, he/she gains a expression of mastery that is the symbol of ego strength. On the otherwise hand, poor management of a stage will inculcate a feeling of inadequacy in the individual. The eight stages identified by Erikso n are discussed under map 1 This stage is titled as trust vs mistrust. This stage essentially starts from the birth and lasts till the completion of first year of life. Because of the total dependableness of child on adults in this stage, the development of trust in child depends upon the quality of care given by the adults. Development of trust is vital to fulfil the sense of security in the whole life. Children whose caregivers are emotionally fake, inconsistent, and rejecting develop mistrust. When the caregivers are prudent and dutiful towards the child, the child develops trust that lasts for the whole life. Stage 2 This stage develops autonomy or doubt and shame in the child. This stage occurs in the early childhood and talks about the development of soulfulnessal control in the children. When a child learns how to control various needs of the body, he/she feels independent. Moreover, a child makes choices between various types of foods, clothes and toys. Successful compl etion of the indorse stage makes a child confident. Otherwise, the child suffers from self-doubt. Stage 3 This stage decides the development of either initiative or guilt in the child. This covers the preschool years. Social interaction in this period gives a feeling of control and power to the child. Successful interaction with others in this stage inculcates leadership skills in the child, and unsuccessful experience inculcates guilt. Stage 4 This stage decides between inferiority and industry. The stage starts from age 5 and lasts till age 11. The encouragement received from parents makes the child competent and confident, and lack of encouragement by parents makes the child unconfident. Stage 5 This stage decides between confusion and identity and occurs in adolescence. Encouragement received in this stage provides a person with a strong identity and lack of encouragement makes him/her confused. Stage 6 This stage decides between isolation and experience and occurs in early a dulthood. Development of intimacy in relationships makes them secure. Development of intimacy requires a strong sense of identity. Stage 7 Stage 7 is about the development of generativity or stagnation in a person. This stage focuses on the career building. If a person wins in this stage, he/she feels like contributing to the world positively. Failure in this stage lends the feeling of idleness to the person. Stage 8 This stage inculcat

Quantitative Easing Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Quantitative Easing - Essay ExampleThis act expands the excess reserves of banks and lowers the yield since the prices of the pecuniary assets rise (Wieland & Research., 2009).Since this is a type of a monetary polity, it also includes expansionary and contractionary monetary policies. Expansionary policies include those in which the central bank purchases government bonds (short-term) in order to beat down the market interest group rate. When interest range are at zero and traditional monetary policy cannot be brought into play, quantitative easing is apply to further boost the economy, and not only are short-term bonds purchased, but long-term bonds are purchased as well, and the yield would be most likely to increase. (Economist, 2005)This policy helps to keep inflation at the right percentage, neither too low nor too high. However, easing can become over-effective and result in deflation or be ineffective and lead to banks not lending out additional reserves (Economist, 200 5).As aforementioned, the central bank imposes a monetary policy by a rise or fall in the interest rate. Then the interest rate target is also achieved by open market operations, which essentially involves the purchasing or selling of short-term government bonds from financial institutions including banks. The process involves the central bank lending out bonds, collecting the capital from these bonds purchased, and this in turn changes the money supply in the economy and at the same time affects the price of government bonds, even though just the short-term ones. This entire process changes the interbank rates of interest (Fukasawa & Corporation, 2000).A liquidity trap occurs when the central bank cannot change the interest rate. Quantitative easing is then used to boost the economy without referring to the interest rate. The aim of quantitative easing is to affect the money supply and not the interest rate, which is impossible to reduce in any case. And this is referred to as a demise resort policy in

Comparing the Republic to the Modern Society Essay Example for Free

Comparing the commonwealth to the Modern Society EssayThe relevance of The Republic to our modern society In Platos The Republic, Plato illustrates what his high-flown city would look like. He describes the educational systems, ideal legislators and the nominates of commonwealth. The republic influenced many people to understand the purpose for democracy, and it led to new philosophical schools of thought. Although this work was written hundreds of years ago, it let off affects our modern world set away. One of the most important things that Plato stresses is the importance of education. Without education of the masses, democracy would cease to exist. When Plato was forming his ideal society, he stressed the importance of education for several reasons. Most importantly, educating citizens led to a peaceful, well-run republic. For Plato, education was not about information expenditure and data storage. Rather, education was drawing out the knowledge that was already in the student. He said that the power and capacity of learning exists in the soul already He gives an allegory of prisoners in a cave, who have never seen light in the beginning. They become free, come out of the cave and see the light. They understand that the shadows be merely reflections of real things they are not the real things themselves. They ascend up to a mountain and see the world for what it really is. Plato uses this story to illustrate what education does for the gentle soul. We are all born in a dark cave, chained to a wall and cannot see the light. We still around all day flavor at shadows, which appear to be so real to us.Education breaks the chains of ignorance. We can ascend to the top of the mountain and look out onto the beautiful world. harmonise to Plato, after the prisoners ascend all the way to the top of the mountain, they must be made to descend again among the prisoners in the den and partake in labors and honors, whether worth(predicate) having or not. Plato notes that once a person is educated and has received knowledge and truth, they should go back and teach those who do not know. This still relevant today because we need to not be so focused on how high we climb up the ladder, but we need to be concerned with how we help others get hold of their goals. This allegory is also used to describe justice. The prisoners in the cave do not know what real justice looks like. The people on the mountain excel must come down and give understanding to those who are lacking it. Plato goes on to describe the type of leader that would be perfect to run the ideal city. The type of leader that Plato describes is someone who is wisest about the affairs of the state, and by whom the state is best administered and who at the same time have other honors and a ameliorate life then that of politics. The ideal leader in Platos time is not much different from the ideal leader in our time period. We still want someone who knows and understands the pro blems of the state or country, who ordain be a good leader, and will be able to put the welfare of his people before his own. These characteristics are still what many people look for in a dependable leader. Plato describes that a good leader should not be caught up in their own wealth, they should care about their people. This is a very foundational idea that is still important in America today. We desire to have a leader who will be humble and care for us, instead of one that has a hidden agenda. According to Plato, economic self-interest and political power must be unbroken separate and not be allowed to work in combination to the disadvantage of the state. In mapping out his utopian society, Plato stresses the importance of democracy. In a condensed piece called democracy considered, Plato talks about how oligarchies decay into democracies and democracies decay into tyranny. Tyranny is formed from pursing ones pleasures and appetites. Plato claims that a man who is deranged and not right in his mind will fancy that he is able to rule, not only over men, but also over gods He describes here that a man can not be a leader if he is deranged and thinks that he is the center of the universe.Plato then shows how democracy and tyranny differ. In describing the differences, Glacon says They are the opposite extremes for one is the very best and the other is the very worst. The republic shows many similarities to todays society. We still have many of the same ideals in education and in government. This piece of work was criticized at the time it was written by is now honored and very influential. It was one of the first writings that began westerly thinking and formed many new beliefs that influenced the renaissance.
